Be a part of Denmark's largest event for international citizens: International Citizen Days! Join as a volunteer and be a part of a fun, lively, and diverse two-day event where you can help with many interesting and fun activities and meet people from all over the world!

(Please note, the entire event is in English and proficiency in English is a requirement for participating as a volunteer).

The event takes place in the heart of Copenhagen on the 27th-28th of September 2024, where we together create a warm welcome for international newcomers in Greater Copenhagen. The event is held in historical surroundings at Øksnehallen and is filled with a dynamic program consisting of expert guidance, entertaining activities, and a carefully curated fair, ensuring that all participants receive the necessary information and inspiration for a successful start in their new home country.

Programme:

On Friday, we focus on job and career with a large exhibition, inspiring talks, professional matchmaking, and CV workshops, specifically designed for adults who wish to establish a career in Denmark - whether they are job seekers, students, or accompanying spouses.

Saturday offers a festive and informal atmosphere with the themes of culture, leisure, and housing. The day is packed with exciting talks, entertainment, and a multitude of activities for both adults and children, including trial offers from local associations and creative workshops. Outside Øksnehallen, you can enjoy delicious food while relaxing in the autumn sun or participating in games and fun.

We expect between 4000-5000 guests over the two days and are looking for volunteers who can help us make the event unforgettable. As a volunteer, you will be involved in everything from welcoming and registering guests to guiding attendees, supporting on stage, facilitating activities, and performing practical tasks. It is a unique opportunity to contribute to the community, meet people from all over the world, and develop new skills.

Benefits for volunteers:

• All volunteers will receive a free meal, snacks, and drinks.
• A volunteer t-shirt will also be provided.
• There will be breaks and time to explore the event on your own during the shifts.

Volunteers will also be invited to join our volunteer group on Rehelper, where we will invite them to future events organized by International House Copenhagen, such as International Citizen Days. Here, there will also be opportunities to provide feedback to our team and communicate with the other volunteers.
