Om gruppen
As a production assistant you will help setting up our exhibitions and festival space at the Festival Center on Refshaleøen. Your tasks will include hanging up photos, building structures for exhibitions, painting frames, walls etc. The work might include some (light) lifts and the need to use power tools or other handy tools like a screwdriver or a hammer.
If you're up for post-production, you will help take down the artwork and pack up the festival.

Your shift will begin with an introduction from the volunteer coordinator of the day or someone else from the main team. You will get a lay down on the tasks we need done that day, and they will section you off into groups to tackle different tasks as needed. Your tasks will vary throughout the day, so you don’t end up doing the same thing all day (unless you would like to).

- What to wear
Make sure you wear clothes that you can move in and that you don’t mind getting dirty. What it looks like is up to you, as long as you are comfortable and ready to work.Remember to wear a pair of shoes that you can walk and stand in for the full duration of your shift.

NOTE that the festival is an outdoor event so dress accordingly. If it’s cold bring a jacket, if it rains bring a raincoat, if it’s 25 degrees, and the sun is out, put on sunscreen!

- Who’s in charge?
The volunteer coordinator of the day will be your main point of contact. If you are assigned to a specific exhibition, and the artist happens to be there on the day you can refer to them, but you can also always ask the volunteer coordinator. If there is any uncertainty, always ask the volunteer coordinator, then we will figure it out for you.
Other members of the main staff might be present at the festival and sometimes these people are in charge of certain tasks. If they are, you will always be told. When someone other than the volunteer coordinator is in charge, you can still always ask the volunteer coordinator for help, if anything is unclear or you just have questions on the task at hand.

- At Copenhagen Photo Festival, we value our community highly, and volunteers are important to us. The festival wouldn't be the same without you! As a way of saying thank you, we make sure that all volunteers get a goodie bag, with special products and offers centered around photography, culture, art and events.
You also get a festival ticket for all 10 days of the festival, so you can visit and enjoy the festival when you don't have shifts. While you are on your shifts, you will have access to delicious, organic and environmentally friendly snacks, drinks and food.
NOTE Remember to bring your own bottle to refill or cup of you want to drink coffee/tea!
